RedStream Technology is recruiting a Director of IT Operations to join a NYC based asset management firm. This role will oversee and coordinate the day-to-day IT operations locally as well as across the remote office located around the world. The position will serve to spearhead a move to DevOps tools and processes. Previous experience with AWS and Azure is important for this role to manage day to day operations as well as identify and coordinate improvements across the cloud environment. Management of both an internal team as well as various vendors will be an integral part of this job.
Primary responsibilities
- Manage the office infrastructure and network connections to ensure they are resilient, secure, and have the bandwidth to meet company objectives
- Oversee Cloud provider operations and service providers including stability, performance, and monitoring
- Actively manage Cloud financials across AWS and Azure management consoles for budgeting, forecasting, and management communication
- Manage the end user support team and end user compute devices
- Manage application support and stability across key operational business applications
The successful candidate will
- Be a hands-on project leader with the ability to manage cross-functional teams delivering to agreed milestones
- Strategize towards stable and secure IT operations and interact directly with senior management
- Take ownership of IT Operations including maintaining a list of open issues and driving resolutions, routine and ad hoc support and maintenance needs, and the creation of a roadmap for the evolution of our systems
- Be practical in evaluating our tools, processes, controls, and how/whether they continually deliver cost/benefit for the firm’s business and functions
- Be detail oriented, highly organized, and communicate effectively with investment and technology professionals at various levels of seniority
- Have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop solid relationships with internal stakeholders within the firm to share best practices and build consensus around proposed approaches and standards
- Carry yourself with the highest level of integrity, discretion, and maturity
Background
- 15+ years of relevant professional experience with exposure to all aspects of IT Operations; a proven manager with a track record for delivery
- Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier university; MBA preferred
- Demonstrated ability to design and direct support and infrastructure projects with a mindset geared toward continuous improvement
- Knowledge of Cloud operations and/or managing Cloud managed services provider is required as the firm uses AWS and Azure Credible experience working closely with development teams as part of the SDLC, including Information Security and DevOps
